Since August 2015, Obu Ihuoma has grown into a respected socio-cultural organisation dedicated to member welfare and the advancement of the Abiriba community.

Since its inception, Obu Ihuoma Social Club International has remained steadfast in promoting the welfare of its members while contributing to the growth of the Abiriba community — undertaking humanitarian, social, and community-based projects that improve lives, foster unity, and advance sustainable development.

  • Food and relief supplies staged for distribution — COVID-19 relief support

    COVID-19 Relief Support

    In response to the pandemic, the club provided food items and relief materials to members of the Abiriba Communal Improvement Union (ACIU), Port Harcourt Branch — much-needed support during a period of economic hardship, reflecting the club's commitment to humanitarian service.

    2024 · EDUCATION

    Educational Support Initiative

    The club donated exercise books through ACIU for distribution to students in Abiriba — supporting learning, easing the burden on parents, and encouraging academic excellence. A reaffirmation that education is a vital tool for community growth and the development of future leaders.

    Political Support & Mobilization

    The club mobilized support for its Patron, Hon. Chief Eleanya Kalu, during the 2024 Local Government Council Elections — voter sensitization, grassroots engagement, and community outreach that contributed to his successful election.

FLAGSHIP PROJECT · 2024–PRESENT

The Obu & Recreational Park, Abiriba

The club's most ambitious legacy project: an ongoing Obu and Recreational Park in Abiriba — a modern centre for cultural preservation, social interaction, and community recreation. Beyond recreation, the Obu will stand as a symbol of unity and cultural pride, preserving Abiriba heritage for future generations.
